To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Tessa Thacker, and I am a second year education student at the University of Regina. I am majoring in English and minoring in inclusive education. I am not originally from the Regina area; I grew up in the small community of Hudson Bay. Coming from a smaller community played a large part on why I decided to become an educator, as I felt I was able to get a personalized education from familiar teachers.
I would like to thank you for welcoming me into your classroom; it is such a great opportunity for me to learn things I won’t be able to learn without real life experience in the school. I look forward to the hands-on experience, and I hope to learn how to successfully create interesting and provoking lesson plans that engage students. I also would be interested in gaining more experience in ensuring that all students are learning at their own pace and styles.
Being an English major, I am very passionate about finding important literature that gets students interested in reading. I love reading and exploring Canadian historical literature and would love to get my students involved. Being an inclusive education minor, I am very enthusiastic about ensuring that all students are included because I believe that students of all abilities have something unique to bring to the classroom.
I love being around students of any age, so becoming an active member of the school is something in which I would definitely be interested. I would love to volunteer my time with afterschool programs like homework clubs or reading clubs, if there are volunteers needed.
Thank you again for allowing me this wonderful opportunity to gain precious knowledge. I look forward to being in the classroom with you very soon!
